OUR ORIGIN STORY
How It All Began
Meaghan Gambino built a distinguished career in finance, where her work with women, nonprofits, foundations, and endowments deepened her commitment to making a broader impact. During the pandemic, she launched a highly successful virtual financial education series for women, drawing more than 110 participants and bringing together female advisors from across her firm. The experience sharpened her leadership and affirmed her desire to do something larger.
In 2022, after moving to a new firm, Meaghan learned about Impact100 through a friend. As a Long Island native, she was inspired to see the organization’s model in action at The Big Give in New York City, where more than 200 women gathered to support transformative local giving. The event left a lasting impression and sparked her vision to bring Impact100 to Long Island.
What followed was a period of connection, discovery, and momentum. As she explored the nonprofit landscape on Long Island, Meaghan recognized both the need and the opportunity to create meaningful change in her community. With the support of 12 like-minded friends and guidance from Impact100 founder Wendy Steele, Impact100 Long Island was born.
